HUSH SHOWINGS ON TWO COLLEGE CAMPUSES

During 2018, PLLDF joined with the American University Women for Life (AUWL) and pro-life student groups from Northeast Catholic College and the College of the Holy Cross, at two separate events this April to view the HUSH documentary. Approximately 20-30 persons witnessed the presentation at each venue.

A Punam Kumar Gill Film, produced in 2015, by Mighty Motion Pictures, HUSH is a powerful, internationally-acclaimed production which effectively considers the deleterious effects that abortion has on women. The documentary specifically examines the controversial link between abortion and breast cancer (ABC link), the causative effect of abortion on premature births, and the oftentimes devastating mental health effects experienced by post-abortive women.

HUSH has received national and local acclaim. For example, the National Post’s Barbara Kay has written: “HUSH, which seems to me an objective overview of the situation, should be seen by pro-choice women, pro-life women, and women who are simply concerned about themselves or their daughters achieving their reproductive goals with optimal chances for long-term health. That is to say, by pretty well all women.”

Here is how one student at an April showing of HUSH described her reaction:

HUSH has succeeded in offering viewers a comprehensive overview of the physical and psychological effects abortion has on women, and the inadequate information given to women by medical professionals and the media. While dealing with a particularly sensitive social issue, HUSH is honest, civil, and surprisingly non-ideological. I hope that many students have the opportunity to view it and engage in charitable discourse on the heated topics of abortion and women’s health.”

And here’s what another student at an April showing of HUSH had to say:

HUSH presents a respectful and rigorously researched discussion about the real and dangerous effects abortion has on many of the very women it professes to empower. I feel that men and women of all ages and ideologies would benefit by experiencing this documentary. HUSH opens minds and hearts to discuss abortion in the manner it deserves: objectively, and lovingly.”
